God IS your first love.

Why?

Before you even made your grand appearance here on this earth, God knew you. He made you and was with you while you were in your mother’s womb.

“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.

Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”

- Jeremiah 1: 5 (NLT)

Not only did He know you before you were born, He also gave His son (Jesus Christ) as a sacrifice for your sins to redeem you back to Himself. He closed the huge chasm that was keeping you away from Him. See my previous post for more information on why He did this.

Because of His love for us we can love Him.

We love Him because He first loved us.

I know this may seem too basic for some of you, however, it’s important for us to remember these basic principles, ESPECIALLY WHEN WE ARE GOING THROUGH TOUGH TIMES! Remembering that He loves us and what He has done for us in the past can help us through the various challenges that can and will come our way.
