Romans chapter 8 is such a powerful, yet enlightening chapter in the Bible. I’ve read this chapter multiple times, yet new things are revealed to me each time I read it.

Recently, the Lord has me meditating (again) on this amazing chapter, specifically the portion where it states that nothing can separate us from God’s love. Sometimes we just need to be reminded of this fact. Since we’re human, we will mess up and fall short of God’s perfection. This sin may look different from others (for instance, a person may be angry that a car cut him off during rush hour traffic, causing them to retaliate, or accidentally falling into/participating in bad habits - such as watching porn, using profanity, or inadvertently practicing witchcraft), but its still sin nonetheless. When we realized that we’ve messed up, we may feel as if God loves us less because we’ve sinned against Him. This idea may have been influenced by our physical interactions with others where we were punished for our mistakes and had our relationships damaged as a result. Thankfully, God’s love is NOTHING like that. He loves us unconditionally and even gave His only begotten son as a sacrifice for our sins even when we wanted nothing to do with Him.

I pray that you carefully read and meditate on these verses while God gives you new revelation(s) on what He’s saying to you. In Jesus’ name, amen.

“What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?
Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?
Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself.
Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love?

Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?
(As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”8:36 Ps 44:22.)
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.
No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
