Quick Health Update

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven’t been posting recently. I have a lot on my plate right now, so I’ve just been focused on dealing with those things before I get back to my extracurricular activities (including maintaining this website).

If you follow me on social media, you saw that I’ve been taking a break from social media since December 2021. I made reference to my health, which is one of the things that I’m dealing with. I ended up having surgery in November 2021. It was a “minor” surgery, however, I developed and maintained a low-grade fever for 2 weeks straight and had right leg pain and swelling, which was eventually accompanied with a cough. At first it was thought that I just had some kind of bacterial URI, so I was placed on antibiotics for 5 days. When I went to see my regular doctor, however, I had to go to the emergency department to rule out a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lungs) since one of my blood tests (d-dimer for all of my fellow medical folks) was elevated. The CT scan didn’t show a blood clot in my lungs, thank God; however, I developed an allergic reaction to the IV contrast the following day. After enduring about 1 week of allergic reaction symptoms, I went in for an ultrasound to rule out deep vein thrombosis (blood clot in the leg). So yes, it’s been a very interesting ride so far, which is why I’ve been taking it easy.
